A fire broke out this Tuesday morning in the center of Paris, near the City Hall. The fire started in a building located rue de la Verrerie, France Bleu Paris learned from the Paris firefighters. Significant emergency resources were deployed on site and up to the BHV, which is located a little further down the street and which was evacuated and closed. A person in “absolute emergency” was transported to Cochin hospital, firefighters said. Another person, “discomforted by the fumes”was slightly injured according to a police source contacted by France Bleu Paris.

In addition, five firefighters were slightly injured. They took “a heat stroke”. They were not hospitalized, according to the same source. Fire “concerns the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors” of this building which has five. “It didn’t break through to the top floor and didn’t hit the ground floor”, according to the Paris firefighters. 135 firefighters and around forty engines are mobilized on this fire, still in progress at 11 a.m. this Tuesday.

“Major intervention by firefighters in progress on rue de la Verrerie, north of the BHV between Temple and Archives which are closed off”specifies the mayor of Paris Center Ariel Weil on X. “Please avoid the area so as not to interfere with the work of the emergency services.”
