As reported by La Dépêche du Midi, the tragedy occurred at the exit of Gaillac, in Tarn, in the direction of Lisle-sur-Tarn.
A fifth victim found in cardio-respiratory arrest
When emergency services arrived on the scene, they discovered a vehicle completely engulfed in flames with four occupants inside. The bodies were charred. A fifth person was discovered nearby, after being ejected from the vehicle. This fifth victim also died.
According to the very first elements of the investigation, the car left the road then hit trees before catching fire. The investigation will have to focus in particular on establishing the circumstances in which this tragedy occurred and why the vehicle caught fire.
Still according to our colleagues, the identity of the five victims is in progress.
“It is too early to have the precise circumstances of the accident, but a priori, we are on a single vehicle involved,” indicates the Albi prosecutor’s office at this time.
