Three years after the 4th Grand Prix d'Automne (Gr.1) of their champion Galop Marin, the Papot family and Dominique Bressou have once again added their names to the prize list of the event thanks to the phenomenal Losange Bleu. The latter became the 10th horse in history to achieve the Grande Course de Haies/Grand Prix d'Automne double, under the saddle of Johnny Charron. In partnership with the Master d'Oc stallion (Haras de Toury).
What a horse! Defeated in the last preparatory round, Blue Diamond (Martaline) proved that he was the undisputed leader of the age hurdlers by triumphing in the Autumn Grand Prix, despite a big mistake which could have cost him dearly… Placed in the lead by Johnny Charronthe family champion A priest accelerated significantly during the 2nd crossing of the opposite line and put several of his opponents in the red; of which Heloy Delabarrière (North Choir), who seemed in great difficulty coming out of the final turn. Despite a huge mistake at the penultimate hurdle, Losange Bleu got back on track and won by a length and a quarter ahead of Heloy Delabarrière, who put in a very good finish to the race. Hermès Baie gave the illusion of success before completing the podium at 1/2 length, while Thaix game (Authorized) surrendered to finish 6th.

Only a true champion is capable of winning from start to finish in such a fast-paced race at this level of competition, especially after such a mistake at the crucial moment, and Losange Bleu is certainly one of them! The resident of Dominique Bressou becomes the 10th horse to achieve the Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil/Grand Prix d'Automne double the same year after Evohé II (1937), Vatelys (1946), Méhariste (1956), Romanticism (1957), You're tough (1972), Laveron (2002), Zaiyad (2007), Questarabad (2009) et Thelema (2023). Losange Bleu offers a 5th coronation in the Grand Prix to the Papot family and Dominique Bressou, winners of 4 editions with the champion Sailor Gallop (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).
Losange Bleu nevertheless came close to being penalized at the penultimate hurdle
The victory is all the more beautiful as Losange Bleu will lose the benefit of his victory in the Prix de Compiègne (Gr.3) after having tested positive for flunixin, a molecule present in anti-inflammatories… while he never received a single treatment! Following extensive research, those around him discovered that he had been contaminated in a truck which had transported a mare from the stable on calmagin, 48 hours earlier. Dominique Bressou demonstrated great transparency by quickly explaining himself to the press, recording his first positive case in 20 years of activity: he then underlined the unfailing support of the Papot family, who continued to support him. trust despite this unfortunate incident. This success in the Grand Prix therefore has a particular flavor for those around Losange Bleu, who deserved to return to the top after such a setback.

Coming from the last generation of the great Martaline (Linamix), Losange Bleu is the 9th product of Sweet Valrose (Cadoudal), who placed 2 times in 3 outings over the Parisian hurdles at 3 years old. He is his mother's 5th black guy after Beautiful Bone (Corri Piano), 3rd Prix Montgomery (Gr.3), Vomero (Corri Piano), 2nd of the Stanley Prize (L.), Vicenzio Mio (Corri Piano), 3rd in the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial (Gr.2), et Green Diamond (Montmartre), winner of the Prix Duc d'Anjou (Gr.3) and Saint-Sauveur (L.). The mare gave a 6th black type with her last product, Diamond Green Blue (Night Wish), who finished 2nd in the Prix d'Indy (Gr.3) and 3rd in the Prix de Pépinvast (Gr.3) this year… A hell of a broodmare!
