Reading the first trends in the various voting centers throughout the national territory and in those of the diaspora, “Yes” receives the favors of voters called to the polls to fulfill their civic duty this Saturday, November 16, 2024. Beijing (China), South Africa via France and the United States, the bulletin « Oui » is racing in the lead.
Same case in Gabon, where, during the first countings, the curve tends in favor of « Oui ». At the same time, these positive scores for the promoters of this new constitution which will govern the functioning of our country, are in decline due to a high rate of abstention.
Indeed, in most of the voting centers visited by our teams of reporters, we noted an abstention rate of around 52%. A percentage which expresses a message from many compatriots who have chosen not to speak out.
In addition, when leaving the polling stations, the participation rate was around 42%. Very weak for a national vote during which all Gabonese men and women were invited to make their voices heard.
