The identity he gave to the police reveals that the man was already wanted for 3 murders and an attempted murder in the Netherlands.
This Monday, November 11, 2024 around 10 a.m., a man was found dead on the public highway, in front of a building on rue d'Enghien, near Place Carnot, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, reports Progress. The victim was allegedly killed by a blow to the head from a concrete block, in the middle of the street, on the night of Sunday 10 to Monday 11 November.
According to the regional daily, he is a man in his thirties, of no fixed address and of Moldovan nationality. The Lyon public prosecutor's office indicated to l'AFP that the crime had been filmed by a video surveillance camera. A bloody concrete block was reportedly found near the body of the victim, who had a large wound on his head.
Indicted and imprisoned
The man suspected of this assassination and of several attempted homicides in France and the Netherlands was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention, the Evry prosecutor's office told AFP on Saturday.
Arrested Tuesday evening at Toulon station (Var), the man was “indicted for attempted assassination” Friday evening for “acts committed in Evry on October 23”detailed Grégoire Dulin, public prosecutor in Evry.
