A perilous trip to start the adventure in the Coupe de . This Saturday, the Grenats were expected in Alsace to enter this prestigious competition. Facing FCSR Obernai, resident of Régional 2, Stéphane Le Mignan was forced to change his starting lineup.

Indeed, in addition to the internationals Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly, Alexandre Oukidja, Fali Candé and Ablie Jallow, four other elements were missing. Affected, Koffi Kouao, Pape Sy, Maxime Colin and Papa Amadou Diallo were therefore not on the trip. On the other hand, Alexis Mirbach (19 years old) took the opportunity to celebrate his first start in the cages.

From the start, the Garnets tried to set a high pace in the hope of quickly taking the lead. Unfortunately, Johann Karich flew perfectly off Gauthier Hein's set piece (4°) and Simon Elisor did not catch the target (11°). In the process, a nice defensive move was needed to prevent Kevin Van den Kerkhof from opening the scoring (12th).

Faced with a valiant Alsatian team, FC Metz then struggled to create danger on the local goal. Ibou Sané was trying his luck. In vain (32°). A few minutes later, his volley passed just over the goal (34th). As soon as the restart, Joel Asoro, moving in his lane, forced Johann Karich to make a save again (46th).

Through patience and perseverance, Stéphane Le Mignan's team succeeded in breaking the Alsatian barrier. Receiving a free kick from Gauthier Hein, Ibou Sané opened the scoring with a nice header (0-1, 63°). The Grenats doubled the lead with a new set piece when Jessy Deminguet placed the ball on the skull of Simon Elisor (0-2, 72°).

The break was over, but our Garnets continued to push. At first, Alpha Touré's missile fled the target (88°), then Sadibou Sané put his team under cover once and for all. The central defender cut the trajectory of a corner from Malick Mbaye and managed to shake the net (0-3, 89°).

At the end of a controlled meeting, FC Metz therefore escapes from the Alsatian trap and validates its ticket for the 8th round of the Coupe de France. Meet on the weekend of November 30 and December 1 for a new trip, to Biesheim (N2) or Raon l'Etape (N3).
