A hostage taking is underway at the start of the afternoon in a restaurant in the Paris suburbs, numerous police vehicles are blocking the street.
The owner of a restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine), in the close suburbs of Paris, “is entrenched” on Saturday November 16, 2024 in his establishment where he “holds a few employees”, told AFP the Paris fire brigade (BSPP). This would be the restaurant L’Olivier, located on rue Ernest Renan.

Large security perimeter
A large police force surrounds the restaurant a few dozen meters from the Paris ring road, AFP journalists noted. On AFPTV images, we can see numerous police vehicles and armed, helmeted law enforcement officers blocking the streets and establishing a security perimeter in the neighborhood.
