This Tuesday, November 13 at the National Assembly, the town of Villeneuve received a Territoria Silver prize in the Energy Transition category, for its Flexitanie project.

For the record, Villeneuve has become a pilot city for the installation of V2G terminals, allowing electric vehicles in the municipal fleet to reinject the electricity stored in their batteries into the network. This project was part of the regional Flexitanie program.

To carry it out, Villeneuve purchased eight electric vehicles compatible with V2G technology. It also invested in two electric vehicles to replace thermal vehicles and installed two V1G terminals in the town hall, terminals allowing vehicles to be recharged with, mainly, renewable energy produced in excess and not consumed at the moment.

The prize, awarded by the Territoria observatory, is awarded by committees of experts chaired by the Minister for Rural Affairs, Commerce and Crafts, Françoise Gatel.

Note that the municipality of Villeneuve will receive a second prize this Tuesday, November 19 as part of the Mayors' Fair in , the 2-star Territory Engaged Ecological Transition Label, awarded by ADEME. This prize rewards a global approach, which ranges from improving environmental performance to the development of alternative solutions to individual cars, including the integration of eco-responsibility into the internal functioning of the municipality.
