During the night from Friday to Saturday, the Tabac Presse Loto Librairie in Dangé-Saint-Romain, located at 72 Avenue de l’Europe, was the target of a car break-in. Around 2:30 a.m., a vehicle struck the front of the establishment. A fire quickly broke out after the impact.

30 firefighters on site

Firefighters intervened quickly to control the flames, which threatened to spread to two neighboring buildings. The fire was contained thanks to the intervention of around thirty firefighters, but the smoke also affected two other neighboring businesses. The accommodation located above the tobacco shop was also damaged by the flames.

Power outage in the neighborhood

The fire did not cause any injuries. In order to secure the area and facilitate the intervention of firefighters, electricity was cut off for several hours in the neighborhood. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie. Several criminal identification technicians attended the scene.
