Woman attacked by wolves at Thoiry zoo: what we know

A woman was injured “in the neck, calf and back” by wolves at the Thoiry zoo this Sunday, June 23, in the morning, when she entered an enclosure. The victim, aged 37, was taken to hospital with a life-threatening condition.

Around 9 a.m. this Sunday, June 23, a woman was seriously injured after being bitten by wolves at the Thoiry zoo, in Yvelines, AFP learned from a source close to the matter, confirming information from Le Parisien. The incident apparently occurred when the victim, aged 37, entered an enclosure by mistake.

According to initial information, the thirty-year-old had gone for a run in the morning after spending the night in hotel accommodation at the park.

According to the same source, she then “entered a wolf enclosure, crossing two security systems, a ditch and an electrical device, intended to prevent the animals from getting out”.

The victim was injured “in the neck, calf and back”. She was transported to hospital in critical condition and the Mantes-la-Jolie Research Brigade was put in charge of the investigation. This Sunday afternoon, the victim’s vital prognosis is no longer in jeopardy.

Contacted by us, the management of the Thoiry zoological park has, for the moment, not responded to our requests.
