Major fire on 120th street in St-Georges de Beauce

Firefighters responded early in the evening to a major fire in a residential building on 120th Street in St-Georges.

Initial reports indicated there would be an explosion. Moreover, an entire door was found on the ground, about a hundred feet away.

The flames completely engulfed the structure and embers were thrown into the sky.

Two neighboring buildings were also affected by the fire and a multitude of debris was visible around the residence.

It is unknown if anyone was inside.

An ambulance was called to the scene.

Hydro-Québec had to urgently carry out a remote power cut for security reasons. Nearly 5,000 subscribers were deprived of power.

The Fire Department sounded a general alarm.
