The Minimes National Championship delivered its verdict this Saturday at the Cercle de l’Étrier in Dakar. The young riders thus distinguished themselves in the events of the first and second round before the couple (horse – rider) Djankalar and Candice Villain won gold hands down at the end of the stopwatch jump-off.

Lovers of equestrian sports were served during the Mini National Championships, by teams, Amateur Club and Club Cups organized this weekend (June 22 and 23) by the Senegalese Federation of Equestrian Sports (FSSE).

This Saturday, it was the juniors who were the first to start with the first round of the show jumping event which was not kind for several of them. At the end of the said round, seven riders were eliminated. They are Sophie Roynette, Anna Ba, Cheikh Ndiaye, Babacar Bao, Carola Villani, Babacar Mbaye Faye and Soukheyna Ndiaye.

This was followed by the elimination during the second round of one of the favorites Hassina Ndour of the Yasmine Hachem Stables. The couple Hassina Ndour and Bébé Awa obtained 4 penalty points in the second round.

Candice Villain imperial in jump-off on the clock!

The couple Djankalar and Candice (Horse Jumping Academy) achieved a second faultless run to reach the play-offs as did the couple Cobalt – Charlie Muller from Poney Club Hanne and Mouhamed Khouma – Felicie (PCH).

In the jump-offs, rider Candice Villain set the bar very high by passing the test in 34 seconds 93′. His competitors Mouhamed Khouma and Charlie Muller will not manage to do better since they will each obtain 4 penalty points with a time of 50s 79′ and 47s 17′ respectively.

The couple Candice Villain and Djankalar (HJC) therefore won first place in the National Minimes Championship while Charlie Muller and Mouhamed Khouma are 2nd and 3rd in the ranking.
