A 20-year-old young man, known for drug trafficking, died of his wounds after being stabbed in the night from Thursday to Friday in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge (Essonne), AFP learned from the public prosecutor's office and of the police.
Five young men, present near the scene of the homicide, were placed in police custody, said the Evry prosecutor's office. These police custody were still in progress Friday morning.
The public prosecutor opened a murder investigation, entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division. According to the prosecution, several wounds were found on the victim's neck and body.
The main suspect on the run?
The victim was found in a cellar of a building in the Bois des Roches district, said a police source.
The firefighters and the Mobile Emergency Service intervened, but the victim was in cardio-respiratory arrest when they arrived. The young man died on the spot despite an attempt at resuscitation.
According to the police source, one of the arrested individuals had a superficial wound on his right arm.
The five suspects, aged 18 to 22, named a sixth person, on the run, as the perpetrator of the fatal blow, said the same source.
The motive for the attack remained unknown.
