A man died in a fire in his apartment this Thursday, November 14, 2024 rue Jules-Hubert in Charleville-Mézières.
The firefighters were alerted at 8:55 p.m. for a house fire in this street in the Mohon district. The ground floor accommodation was badly damaged by the flames.
A deceased victim
When the firefighters arrived, the fire had been extinguished by the neighbors but the occupant of the accommodation, a 65 year old mancould not be resuscitated despite the intervention of the Smur.
A neighbor, who was slightly exposed smoke, was treated by the Charleville-Mézières firefighters and transported to Manchester hospital.
The other apartments unharmed
The other apartments in the two-story building were not damaged and the occupants were able to return to their homes shortly after 10 p.m.
