The philosophy cafés of the Espace Loisir Culture de Montmirail (ELC) are places for meetings and debates increasingly appreciated by philosophy lovers.
The next meeting will take place Saturday November 16from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 28 rue du Faubourg de Paris. It will focus on the Irish writer, poet and playwright, Samuel Beckett and the absurd.
The program
Claude-Stéphane Perrinone of the two responsible for this event with Mohamed Benahmed, gives a first outline: “In the wake of Beckett's theater, the next café-philo in Montmirail will reflect on the absurd. How can we problematize its various manifestations? Can we think that nonsense is senseless, hollow, empty, aporetic or significant? Does it testify to an absence of meaning which still means something: the impossibility of being happy, of being condemned to ephemeral pleasures or to a tragic destiny… or to being free to do nothing? anything, anywhere and anytime? »
This meeting will be hosted by Joel Vincent“a translator of poetry who is also interested in philosophy and thus opens doors to areas that make you think differently,” explains Claude-Stéphane Perrin who is usually in charge of this philosophy café.
The next dates
For those who are passionate about this type of debate, other philosophy cafés are planned at the ELC : December 14, 2024 (subjectivity), January 11, 2025 (concrete), February 8, 2025, (Jankélévich and metaphysics by Mireille and Patrice Monteil), March 15, 2025, (Abstraction), April 26, 2025, (Idealize) , May 17, 2025 (The writing of reality) and finally June 14, 2025 (on the threshold of infinity).
The annual contribution to the café-philo is 12 euros (the ELC contribution must be added). Contact: Claude-Stéphane Perrin on 06 80 44 31 08 or by email at [email protected]
