The Professional Football League (LFP) unveiled this Thursday the posters for the 2024-2025 Ligue 2 calendar. Stade Lavallois will face Grenoble at the Stade des Alpes on the first day and will play the last against Metz on May 10.
This new Ligue 2 season will begin on August 16 and close on May 10, 2025. It will be very special because it will only consist of 34 days, the championship increasing to 18 clubs, as in Ligue 1. This edition is also marked by the arrival of video assistance in refereeing.
The first home match will take place on the weekend of August 24 against En Avant Guingamp. Metz, Lorient, Clermont are the three clubs relegated from Ligue 1, Red Star and Martigues are promoted from National.
Posters for the next season
At the end of the regular season, there will be the play-offs for accession to Ligue 1. The first play-off will pit the 4th and 5th against each other. The winner will face the 3rd in a second play-off. The accession play-off will be played in two matches, between the 16th in Ligue 1 and the play-off from Ligue 2.
