An individual armed with a machete injured a man on Tuesday before receiving several fatal stab wounds from a butcher’s employee.

Two men were indicted for murder and one of them was imprisoned after the death of a man with a knife during an altercation on Tuesday in an Afghan butcher’s shop in Rennes, we learned on Friday with the prosecution. “The two accused were referred yesterday to the Rennes public prosecutor’s office. A judicial investigation entrusted to an investigating judge has been opened”Rennes public prosecutor Philippe Astruc told AFP.

Fatal stabbings

Late Tuesday afternoon, a man born in 1977, of Afghan nationality, showed up armed with a machete in an Afghan butcher’s shop in Rennes. During an altercation, which occurred for an unspecified reason, he injured a man before receiving several stabbings, which proved fatal, from a butcher’s employee, according to the floor.

The butcher’s manager and his brother, an employee, both of Afghan nationality, were quickly arrested and placed in police custody following the brawl. “Upon compliant requests from the public prosecutor’s office, the alleged perpetrator of the stabbings (employee of the butcher’s shop) was placed in pre-trial detention and his brother (manager of the butcher’s shop) was placed under judicial supervision”, specified Astruc. According to Ouest-France and Le Télégramme, the trail of a family conflict is favored by investigators.
