The company DRC Gold Trading SA noted, reported on Wednesday November 13, cases of fraudulent export of gold in the east of the DRC.
Its Director General, Joseph Kazibaziba affirmed this during the signing of the acts marking the change of the company name of this company, in the presence of the Minister of Portfolio, Jean-Lucien Busa, in Kinshasa. It will no longer be called Primera Gold.
Joseph Kazibaziba indicated that the company DRC Gold Trading SA is a key player in channeling artisanal gold production.
« It is true that the challenge remains enormous: to bring back into the official circuit all the quantity of gold extracted in an artisanal manner. More than 50 tonnes are fraudulently exported to the east coast of Congo. And that equates to more than 5 billion USD. You can understand that DRC Gold Trading is a strategic company and so important for the State “, he said.
The Managing Director of DRC Gold Trading SA explained that his company now has as shareholder the Congolese State which holds 55% of the shares, the Mining Fund for Future Generations having 30% and 15% for GECAMINES.
He described this day as special with an opening to shareholding in state structures.
« I believe that this is an example that should characterize and reassure everyone that with the Congolese we can do a lot and perhaps do better than the partnerships we sign outside the country. », continued the boss of the company DRC Gold Trading SA.
This company is now worth over 50 million USD.
