Summary of the family tragedy: three injured, at least two of whom were serious, a father and his son. The children were transferred to Nice to the Lenval and Pasteur II hospitals. The mother was taken away by the police. It’s time for the investigation.
The family drama took place this Wednesday, June 19 around noon in Vence, a small town in the Alpes-Maritimes, in an apartment in the HLM Villa Vega building, at 805 avenue Rhin Danube.
The alert would have been given to the municipal police by the neighborhood or the nursery located nearby.
The toll is heavy. A father and his two children aged 6 and 9 were seriously injured with a knife.
Both children were treated immediately. One of the boys was transported to Nice, to Lenval hospital, the other was transfused on site. He was taken to Pasteur II hospital in Nice. One of the two boys, more seriously injured, had to undergo emergency surgery.
The father, aged around forty, was taken care of by firefighters. The mother was taken away by the police.
Contacted, the mayor of Vence, Régis Lebigre, explains that he was there yesterday afternoon. He thanks the municipal police services, the gendarmes and the firefighters who intervened quickly. But regarding the circumstances of the tragedy, he prefers to remain cautious.
Today, we do not yet know the truth. There is no telling what happened. Let’s let the prosecutor’s office work (…) We don’t yet know who attacked who. For now, it’s time for the investigation.

One day after the tragedy, both the neighborhood and the investigators from the Grasse research brigade are at the stage of guessing. Is it a family dispute, a separation drama? Who attacked who? And why ?
The mother, who is not injured, should be the first to be interviewed to determine the circumstances of the tragedy, circumstances which still seem unclear.
According to the local daily “Nice morning”the Grasse public prosecutor’s office is carrying out these investigations for “attempted homicide by spouse” and “attempted homicide of minors under the age of 15”.
In this district of Vence, the family was not known for acts of violence.
