30 years in the video game world is an eternity. An anniversary that Blizzard is celebrating this evening for its Warcraft license with a special 45-minute show. On the program? Hearthstone, Warcraft, WoW but also Warcraft Rumble.
Blizzard celebrates 30 years of Warcraft!
This year, Blizzard is juggling birthdays as it celebrates several Warcraft video games: its flagship license. 2024 rhymes with four since four titles are blowing out their candles this year. Of course, it is first of all Warcraft which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Three games were made between 1994 and 2002 and popularized the studio. Enough to push Blizzard to make an MMORPG entitled World of Warcraft in 2004. It is with, among other things, its tenth expansion that the title celebrates its twentieth anniversary today. Blizzard takes advantage of its license with a physical card game then digitized in the form of a video game. Hearthstone was born in 2014 and celebrates its tenth anniversary. This is for the first time the presence of a new title on mobile, which will be followed in 2023 by Warcraft: Rumble. He is also celebrating his first birthday.
Of course, birthday celebrations are shared. And November has, for a very long time, been BlizzCon's hosting month. A convention held by Blizzard to discuss future projects around their games. If this is not planned, the studio has still planned to organize something to talk about the future of its titles. The studio will be live this evening at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the various anniversaries for 40 minutes.
Warcraft 30 years: what to expect in terms of announcements?
It's hard to know what will be announced this evening. However, we can learn several things from the description of the live stream. For example, updates are planned for Warcraft III Reforged “and more“. Enough to give link to the rumors of the remasters of Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2. Regarding World of Warcraft, it is specified that the horizon will be approached for WoW Classic as well as the modern game. We can therefore expect the content of The War Within's first major update, what is expected regarding the new phase of the Season of Discovery or even what is planned (or not) regarding WoW Cataclysm: Classic and beyond.
In a very different register but still in the world of Warcraft, Hearthstone will be part of the party. “In-depth changes” will be presented: we can then expect, the least, at the presentation of the hearthstonian new year and the rotation of the fundamental set. Not to be excluded, the presentation of new modes for Battlegrounds or the TCG version of the card game. Finally, Warcraft Rumble is also present.
