Vina Murder Case Title Request Rejected, Police Reveal Multiple Reasons

JAKARTA – Head of the Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, explained the reason why the police did not make a special case title as requested by the Pegi legal team Setiawan alias Perong, a suspect in the murder case of Vina and Muhammad Rizky or Eky in Cirebon last week.

According to Sandi, this did not make it a special case title because it is not needed by investigators to uncover the case.

“If it is deemed necessary for the title of the case, of course we will carry out the title. However, so far the file is sufficient and I will tell you that tomorrow (Thursday, editor’s note) morning, God willing, will be transferred to the prosecutor’s office,” Sandi said at the police headquarters on Wednesday, June 19.

Sandi said it is the duty and duty of a lawyer to make legal efforts to defend his client so that the request is legitimate to be submitted. However, to be executed or not depends on the investigator.

“The lawyer’s task is to know how to defend his client. The minimum can provide relief, thank God, be released,” Sandi said.

Sandi hopes that the public and the media will both follow the path of completing the Vina case after Pegi Setiawan’s case was transferred to the prosecutor’s office for immediate trial.

“Please monitor, follow it later in order to maintain and control this matter so that there is no prejudice or treason among us, let alone slander,” he said. declared.

On this occasion, Sandi also said that there would be other legal measures investigated by investigators related to the Vina Cirebon case, such as efforts to cover up the investigation. However, investigators are currently focused on solving the Vina and Eky murder case.

“Especially at this time, investigators will focus on whether this sadistic murder we will reveal independently. Whoever authors it, we will act in accordance with applicable law,” Sandi said.

This is also related to the information submitted by the convict Saka Tatal who claimed to have been intimidated during the examination and did not receive rights to help from family or lawyers.

The two-star police general said that when the case occurred in 2016, the convict Saka Tatal was still a minor, had the right to make statements or remain silent.

However, Sandi continued, from the photographic evidence he showed, from the examination of Saka Tatal in 2016 by non-Iptu investigators Rudiana, the father of the deceased Eky, and examined in good condition, accompanied by aunt and her mother and Bapas.

“Reports from Bapas that Saka Tatal tends to lie when providing information vary. This is a statement from Bapas,” Sandi said.
