Sottas SA would consider buying Progin SA. The employees of the two metal construction companies were briefly informed on Wednesday morning by their respective management. According to our information, it was announced that Sottas SA intended to take over the machinery, the construction sites, the premises and a majority of the employees of Progin SA. The recovery would take place over six months.

The management of two companies, based in Bulle, does not confirm. “I have no comments to make at this stage,” says Nadir Solenghi, managing director of Sottas SA. “There is nothing official. Negotiations are not yet advanced,” adds Dominique Pirrello, general manager of Progin SA. Founder and president of Progin SA, Philippe Progin does not wish to speak on the subject either. “But indeed, there is a plan being prepared. It’s too fast to talk about it,” he adds.

Founded in 1982 in Bulle, where the company has its head office, Sottas SA currently employs more than 480 people. It defines itself as “a family business, leader in metal construction and high-tech facades”. About three years ago, the company expanded to Denges, in the canton of Vaud, due to a lack of available land in the canton of Fribourg. In 2020, the company had an annual turnover of more than 100 million francs.

Founded 40 years ago, Progin SA specializes in the creation of custom architectural facades. On its website, the company indicates that it employs 200 employees spread over three sites in Switzerland, in Bulle, where the company is headquartered, in Bienne and in Tolochenaz (VD). Managed since 2020 by Dominique Pirrello, the company opened a technical branch in 2019 in Braga, Portugal.
