“My mommy heart was broken. » Lola's mother, Delphine, her brother, Thibault, and her aunt, Sabine, wanted to testify and talk about the 12-year-old girl, killed in appalling circumstances on October 14, 2022 in Paris. “I had the impression that we were starting to forget her and that she was nothing more than a news item,” explains Thibault.
In the show “It begins today”, on France 2, hosted by Faustine Bollaert, the family spoke this Tuesday about their daily life for two years. And first the feeling of guilt. “I took a half-hour nap,” exceptionally, explains Delphine. “I usually go out when she comes home. I would definitely have come across her. Unfortunately that day, I didn't go out. I woke up with a start and not seeing her come home, I told my husband that this wasn't normal. I felt a big stab. I immediately went to college.”
Thibault, for his part, “thought for five minutes in front of one of the two exits of the building” to go to the hairdresser. It was 3:15 p.m. “I took the left exit.” Later, CCTV footage showed the girl entering the building, preceded by the woman suspected of having killed her, through the other entrance. It was 3:17 p.m. “Since that day, I tell myself that if I had turned right instead of turning left, nothing would have happened. The four of us would still be in Paris. »
The horrors of social networks
In this terrible affair, the family was not spared from the hateful and execrable behavior on social networks. One of these haters who sent a video montage and harassed Thibault was convicted after the family filed a complaint. “On his video, there were 400,000 likes. In the comments, lots of people found it funny,” underlines Lola’s brother.

Towards a trial at the Dahbia B.
Lola's father died “of grief” at the beginning of the year. “He had lost a lot of weight, no longer ate, no longer slept. He couldn’t do it,” explains Delphine. “He needed to talk about it a lot, I didn’t at all. He went back to his mother. I hoped that it would click for his son, for me. Unfortunately, that was not the case.”

In September, the Paris prosecutor's office requested the indictment of Dahbia B., the main suspect in the murder of Lola which occurred in October 2022 in Paris and under obligation to leave French territory (OQTF), a sanction pronounced three years before the facts . The procedure is being clarified for the opening of his trial for “murder of a child under the age of fifteen” and “rape with torture and barbaric acts”. His body was found in a trunk.
“I hope you forgive me one day…”
All psychiatric expert reports conclude that he is fully responsible. The trial will take place on a date to be determined. “My first question was whether she had suffered. I was told no. That she had stopped breathing on her own. Out of fear…” explains his mother. “But why my Lola, why did she do that? “, she asks. “It’s important to know that she can be judged. I'm not sure what I expect from this audience. I believe in justice. I'm very much waiting for an answer, but it may never give an explanation.”
A year after the death of his sister, Thibault wrote her a letter, “to tell you how much I miss you since you left to see the stars,” he told her. “I'm so sorry… Basically, it's the role of a big brother to protect his little sister and then teach her things. I didn’t even manage to do it, I hope you forgive me one day.”
