The vast majority of readers are avid readers, reading or leafing through almost all copies, whether in paper version or in digital edition. Thus, 15% of them say they read each copy of their favorite title completely and 24% read the majority of the content. The CIM further notes that 45% of readers consult the same copy several times.
The good figures from IPM
The IPM group, to which L’Avenir belongs, welcomed the results of this survey. in a press release: “We therefore thank our 1,570,212 readers for their trust and diligence, which they consult in the daily press with La Libre Belgique, La Dernier Heure Les Sports + or l’Avenir, or in the magazine press with Moustique, Paris Match Belgique, Deuzio and Télé Pocket.
Our general newspapers, L’Avenir and DH, can be proud to cover the largest part of market with 34% of readers. L’Avenir is the only daily newspaper with a growing regional focus. There DH is the daily newspaper that appeals to young people with 48% of its readers between 16 and 44 years old but is also the one whose digital transformation is the fastest on the market with its site which brings it 91% additional reach. La Libre can pride itself on being the leader in its sector for social groups 1 to 2, and for young people aged 16 to 44.”
The Belgian Publishing Survey evaluates the audience of press brands, whether they are consulted in paper or digital version. For this edition, the data covers the period from June 2023 to May 2024, with a total of 8,030 interviews carried out.
