Exercising at this time of day lowers blood sugar

We don’t need to repeat it again: sport is essential to staying in good health, both physical and mental. This not only works our muscles, but also our heart. Physical activity can also help us lose weight, notably by lowering blood sugar levels. Too high a sugar level in the blood can even be dangerous for your health, going so far as to cause strokes, for example.

When to exercise to lower blood sugar?

Spanish researchers conducted a study on 186 people with an average age of 47 and overweight, over 14 days. They were divided into 5 groups according to their volume of physical activity per day: the group which did not do sport, which did sport in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening or a little every hour.

According to the results, the group who practiced activity in the evening, between 6 p.m. and midnight, saw their blood sugar levels drop the most.

If you therefore decide to do sport in the evening, it is necessary to leave two hours between physical activity and bedtime, otherwise you risk disrupting your sleep.

How long do you need to exercise per day for it to be effective?
