The Perpignan police services are launching an appeal for witnesses following a traffic accident that occurred on June 2, 2024 in the Vernet district of Perpignan. A fifty-year-old woman was seriously injured.

On Sunday June 2, around 2:15 a.m., near number 42 avenue Joffre, in the Vernet district of Perpignan, a woman was violently hit on the road by a car. The shock had been extremely violent. The unfortunate woman, aged 52, was thrown several dozen meters from the point of impact in front of the eyes of her companion who was on the sidewalk and did not even have time to realize what was happening. But also under the eye of video surveillance cameras and various witnesses.

Seriously injured, the fifty-year-old was urgently evacuated to the Perpignan hospital center while the driver of the vehicle immediately fled in the direction of the Mailloles and Bompas roundabout. An investigation was immediately opened to try to find him. However, the investigations have so far remained in vain. According to initial information, the car would be Renault brand, Clio or Mégane type and dark in color.
