Arriving in Hérault in November with the mission of keeping Montpellier in the Top 14, Patrice Collazo returned to Mohed Altrad’s decision not to keep him despite the victory against Grenoble during the accession play-off.

Thank you goodbye. As announced by Free Middaythis Monday, Patrice Collazo is not retained by the Hérault club. The 50-year-old manager nevertheless fulfilled the objective which had been set for him upon his arrival, namely to keep Montpellier in the elite after his snatch victory at the Stade des Alpes last Sunday (18-20).

I had come for a mission. It was filled

A performance which did not allow Patrice Collazo to save his position: “I learned it this afternoon (June 17). The most important thing, as I told my players after the match, I came for a mission. It was fulfilled”, he explains to our colleagues at South Radio.

The former Montpellier manager did not express the slightest resentment recalling the circumstances of his arrival at the GGL Stadium : “We knew very well that it was in the very short term, with the objective of keeping the club in the Top 14. That’s why I accepted the Montpellier mission and why I came with this staff”. The one who in the space of four seasons has known three clubs (Toulon 2018-2021, Brive 2022-2023 and Montpellier 2023-2024) is therefore once again on the transfer market.
