Saint-Bruno: commemoration of Remembrance Day

Montarvillois were invited, on November 11 at 11 a.m., to take part in the ceremony for Remembrance Day, formerly called Armistice Day, which took place at the cenotaph on the Village Lake.

For the occasion, Branch 147 of the Royal Canadian Legion organized a small gathering with time of prayer. The mayor of Saint-Bruno, Ludovic Grisé Farand, and the councilor of district 6 – de la Montagne, Hélène Ringuet, were present. Students from Mount Bruno School and Montarville attended the ceremony.

This day commemorates the end of the First World War and is an opportunity to remember all those who defended the nation.

The Village Lake cenotaph is emblematic of the region’s veterans. The engraved inscription pays tribute and reads: “In memory of all those who gave their lives in the service of the Fatherland, so that we may live in peace and freedom. There is no greater love than he who lays down his life for his friends. »
