In September, Godefroy Beauvallet, 52, made his first return as general director of the École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris. To lead the establishment of 1,500 students and 230 teacher-researchers, placed second in the ranking of “L’Usine Nouvelle” engineering schools, Emmanuel Macron chose a digital expert.
Long experience in digital
He was vice-president of the National Digital Council, between 2013 and 2016, and president of the French Association for Internet Naming in Cooperation (Afnic), which manages domain names since 2019. Graduate of École Polytechnique and of Télécom Paris, Godefroy Beauvallet worked in particular in the post and telecommunications department, at Axa, in ministries and at the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT). Since May 2017, he has been HR director of the Corps des Mines. He arrives at a school whose strategic plan was renewed in 2022 in order to affirm its efforts in terms of ecological and digital transitions.
