Football (P1): Faimes wins at Croatia Wandre and remains in the top 3

Faimes, although dominated in terms of possession, was able to create some interesting situations. His attacks put the opposing goalkeeper to the test, with several shots which required good saves from the latter. The Faimois lacked precision, but found a solid Croatia goalkeeper under his bar.

The first real opportunity of this match arrives in the 36th minute. On a precise cross from Papalino, Ribeaucourt, opportunistic, found himself well placed to recover a ball pushed back by the opposing defense. He does not hesitate and sends a perfect lob over the Croatian goalkeeper, thus scoring the only goal of the match. The score was then 0-1 in favor of Faimes, a lead which he retained until the break, despite a few attempts at the end of the first period from Croatia. The pace of play does not slow down, but the two teams return to the locker room with a small gap.

On the way back, the Faimois seem to want to double the stake. They start the second half at a higher tempo, and a few moments after the restart, they appear dangerous. First, Ribeaucourt missed the opportunity to double the lead after a great collective action, before Bizzarri, also well placed, narrowly missed the 0-2. Faimes, however, held on, and the Croats struggled to make their attempts come true.

It was at the end of the match that Croatia seemed to regain some dynamism, multiplying crosses and seeking to put more pressure on Faimes’ defense. A well-placed shot just touches the post. The home team clearly dominated the end of the match, but their attempts in the box were not sharp enough to really worry the Marly goalkeeper, who should never have really shown all his talent.

In the end, despite great pressure from Croatia, Faimes resisted and won with a score of 0-1. The match was marked by solid defense from both teams.
