The Coupe de France is back this weekend and for this 8th round there are still four representatives from the Pays de Savoie. From this evening (8 p.m.), Chambéry Savoie Football (N3) will face Dijon (N). The other three matches will take place this Saturday. FC Annecy (L2) will travel to the pitch of Jura Sud (N2) while GFA Rumilly-Vallières (N2) will host Goal FC (N2) at 5 p.m. But the big part of the 8th round will be for fans of Cluses-Scionzier. The Haut-Savoie team which plays in Regional 1 will host Troyes tomorrow (5 p.m.) currently 15th in Ligue 2. For qualified clubs, the draw for the round of 32 with the entry of Ligue 1 will take place on Monday December 2.
- Chambéry SF – Dijon (Friday 8 p.m., Savoie Stadium in Chambéry)
For this 8th round of the Coupe de France, Chambéry Savoie Football (N3) hosts Dijon (N). “We know that in this match we are not the big favoritesexplains Stéphane Bernard, the Savoyard coach. Dijon is third in National and remains on a series of four victories in a row therefore we expect a very difficult match. We don't have much to lose and we have to experience the event 100% (…) without pressure.”
- Cluses-Scionzier – Troyes (Saturday 5 p.m., Cluses intercommunal stadium)
The step will be high for fans of Cluses-Scionzier who play in Regional 1, five levels below Troyes. Two weeks after eliminating La Roche-sur-Foron, the current 15th in Ligue 2 returns to Haute-Savoie. For this gala match, the Arve Valley team can count on the experience of its coach. Olivier Sorlin, former ETG player and finalist of the Coupe de France in 2011, dreams of an exploit. “My players are amateurs, during the day they are at their company and around 6 p.m. they come to train. This Cup is their adventure and they are building the path to try to go as far as possible. A long journey in the Cup France is often due to a state of mind more than to tactical qualities. my group is very united, he never gives up. We know that it will be complicated because it is Ligue 2 and there is a lot of gap between us but my players are capable of doing something.”
- Jura Sud – FC Annecy (Saturday 4 p.m., Edouard Guillon stadium in Molinges)
Avoiding last year's hiccup and premature elimination in this same 8th round of the Coupe de France is Laurent Guyot's mission. If FC Annecy, currently 5th in Ligue 2, will arrive in the Jura as favorite, the Annecy coach is wary of his opponent. “We expect strong opposition especially as Jura Sud (N2) is used to having good runs in the Coupe de France (32nd and 16th finals during the last editions, Editor’s note).“ No question of falling into the trap also warns Karim Cissé. “We don’t want to get eliminated by a smaller teamindicates the FC Annecy winger. We want to go as far as possible in the competition so I hope we will win.” For this trip, FC Annecy will have to do without several of its executives. Antoine Larose, François Lajugie and Clément Billemaz are in the infirmary and Hamjatou Soukouna is suspended.
- GFA Rumilly-Vallières – Goal FC (Saturday 5 p.m., Grangettes stadium in Rumilly)
