Famous for their comedy duo, the Chevaliers du Fiel have ventured into a whole new area in 2022 and opened a restaurant in Toulouse, their hometown. Called “Le Jardin”, their establishment is located a stone’s throw from La Comédie de Toulouse, in the city center.
Questioned by our colleagues atActu.fr, Mathieu Doumerc, the restaurant’s operations manager, looked back on the genesis of this project at the time of the opening. Indeed, at the time of confinement, the Rex restaurant (their performance hall, Editor’s note) had been permanently closed. And two years ago, “Eric Carrière and Francis Ginibre had the opportunity to buy this beautiful chartreuse“, indicates Mathieu Doumerc. “We have the luxury of being able to start quietly. So for the moment, we are open at the same time as the Comédie de Toulouse, from Thursday to Saturday evening only. But it is bound to evolve“, explained Mathieu Doumerc.

A garden with bowling greens and henhouse

With a room for 120 seats and an intimate terrace, the restaurant thinks big. We have lots of ideas for this place! We can create small lounges, a cocktail bar, privatizations, or simply increase the size of the restaurant if necessary. !“, commented Mathieu Couderc, still for the site Actu.fr. The establishment also has a pretty outdoor area which inspires lots of ideas for the group of restaurateurs. In this garden, we are going to make two bowling greens. The rest will be grassed and in the summer, we have the idea of ​​making a wood oven and setting up a small outdoor kitchen to serve tapas. At lunchtime, we’ll probably do something simple, with grills and in the early evening, aperitifs and pétanque. We also planned to put a chicken coop in the garden“, revealed the operations manager from the restaurant Le Jardin.
