While the lack of bus drivers had disrupted the start of the school year for many students from Calvadosthe Normandy Region organizes a day to discover the profession.

It takes place onThursday June 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Caen (Calvados). The objective is to introduce transport professions, to exchange with professionals, to discover the training and even drive a bus on a simulator.

Training funded by the Normandy Region

In July and October 2024, several driver training sessions are provided within the framework of the regional “One training, one job” system. Thus, via this system, the Normandy Region fully finances the training of 16 job seekersto the profession of driver of public passenger transport.

This training takes place at the CESR in Ifs and each intern is paid by France Travail and/or the Region depending on their rights. The training lasts three months. The passenger transport company Transdev, which operates on Nomad coaches, then undertakes to hire new trainees for at least six months.
