The Peugeot 408 is Peugeot’s UFO. A coupe family sedan with a more than assertive style which offers a new offer in the lion brand’s range. To give you the price of the 408 with all the options , we went to the Peugeot configurator and we took the most expensive in terms of finish, engine, customization and equipment. Here is the result.
The GT finish and the big engine!
The Peugeot 408 is offered by the French manufacturer from €37,000. At this price, you have the basic finish called “Allure”. However, Peugeot offers a second finish on its coupe family sedan, “GT” which corresponds to the top of the range from Peugeot. The call price of the latter is €41,000. For potential customers who choose this finish for the 408, they will be entitled to specific styling elements on the exterior and interior as well as quite a few additional options.
As for the engine, Peugeot offers three on its 408. Engines which are all electrified and equipped with automatic gearboxes. You have a simple hybrid engine developing 136 hp, which is found on many models from the Peugeot brand and the Stellantis group. And finally, you have two plug-in hybrid engines which offer 180 and 225 hp respectively. It is the 225 hp one that we chose for our 408.
As for the “GT” finish and the 225 hp plug-in hybrid engine, our 408 has already taken 14,250 euros compared to the base price of the model which was 37,000 euros.
Personalization
When it comes to customization, Peugeot gives us the choice between a few different body colors, several styles of rims and upholstery. We took the most expensive one from the catalog. If the color Blue Obsession is offered on the 408, Peugeot offers four other colors requiring an addition of between €880 and €1,080. We decided to move towards the most expensive color in the catalog, namely the Red Elixir which therefore requires adding €1,080 more.
As for the rims, Peugeot offers 20-inch diamond-cut rims as an option on the 408. at the price of 300 €.
Concerning the upholstery, the 408 is equipped as standard with upholstery combining both Alcantara and TEP. However, Peugeot offers a “Nappa Mistral leather pack”, which therefore offers leather upholstery. A pack that Peugeot charges a high price for, €2,640.
These are the only styling touches we can change on our 408. But when you think about it, it’s not any worse, because we’ve just added €4,020 at the final price of our 408.
Options and equipment
In the Peugeot configurator, the lion brand offers a whole bunch of equipment and options added to the vehicle. In our quest to find out the price of a 408 with all the options, we once again decided to take it all. Our 408 is now equipped with an electric sunroof with velum (+ €1080). Let us also point out that when choosing the sunroof, Peugeot does not offer us the option of choosing the heated acoustic tinted windshield (+200 €). It’s one or the other, so we took the more expensive one with the sunroof.
Hybrid car requires, we took the 7.4 kW onboard charger (+ €390), the towing pack with tow ball (+ €780), the Night Vision system and its infrared camera (€1,370), the 360° camera and parking aids (+ €780) as well as the Focal audio pack and its 10 speakers at €830.
All these additions enormously increased the final price of our Peugeot 408. In fact, we added 5,230 euros.
The final price of the 408
All this gives us a Peugeot 408 priced at €60,690 (list price). If we take the basic version whose call price is €37,000We have added €14,250 for the GT finish and the engine, Around €4,020 for customization and €5,230 options and accessories. At this price, you have the most equipped and most expensive Peugeot 408 on the market.
