The Palme d’Or at Ogooué-Ivindo –

Behind Ogooué-Ivindo (Makokou), Middle Ogooué (Lambaréné) stands out with a remarkable performance with 76.44%, while Ogooué-Maritime (Port-gentil) finishes at the back of the pack with a rate of success of 56.75%. Haut-Ogooué (Franceville) and Ngounié (Mouila) have success rates slightly below the national average, with 59.99% and 59.9% respectively.

Overall, the results of the BEPC 2024 are disappointing for a school year which has not yet experienced any notable disruption, also marked by the return of payment of the school grant for the benefit of secondary school students.

This year, out of 36,061 registered candidates and 35,415 presented, only 22,691 were declared admitted, for a success rate of 63.8%; a drop of 18.88% compared to 2023 when the success rate peaked at 81.96%. The 2022 session also did better with a 68.96% success rate.

The Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) opens the doors to the second cycle of high schools which is culminated by the baccalaureate, the exams of which for the 2024 session are currently taking place in 51 centers spread across the entire national territory. The results of the deliberations of the first Bac group will be made public on Saturday June 22, 2024
