Top departure from the Maratrail in Monistrol-d’Allier, for the last day of the Trail du Saint-Jacques

At 7 a.m., Sunday June 16, more than 1,600 trail runners converged on Monistrol-d’Allier to cover 50 km towards Puy-en-Velay in a green and wild setting.

After a more than lively Saturday with three distances of the Trail du Saint-Jacques which each saw around a thousand competitors take their bibs and put on their sneakers to face the elements on the paths of Haute-Loire, up to Le Puy, third and last day of the event seems just as attractive!

While the hike from Solignac-sur-Loire will be sold out, the Maratrail, departing from Monistrol-d’Allier, had to launch the runners in several waves to cope with their large number (1,622 according to the site of the UTMB, the most popular in Saint-Jacques).The favorites on the starting line in the town of Monistrol.
