Benjamin Netanyahu also claimed to have discussed with Donald Trump the “great opportunities available to Israel, in the field of peace and its expansion”. These conversations between the two men are “intended to further strengthen the strong alliance between Israel and the United States”specifies the press release.
Trump has increased his gestures in favor of Israel
The United States is Israel's main ally engaged in a military offensive against Palestinian Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah, two Islamist movements supported by Iran.
During his previous term, Donald Trump made numerous gestures in favor of Israel, moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and contributing to the normalization of ties between Israel and several Arab countries with the Abraham Accords.
