aid of 50 euros for young people aged 6 to 28 Aide-Sociale.fr

The Pass’Sport is renewed for the year 2024: Eligible young people aged 6 to 28 will once again benefit from aid of 50 euros for the 2024-2025 sports school year.

The health crisis has had a strong impact on the sporting environment. In addition to the economic consequences for sports clubs, federations and associations, negative effects are being felt with the general decline in physical activity among French people. Sports aid can be requested.

To encourage the resumption of sport, a system was created in 2021, namely the Sport Pass. This back-to-school allowance of 50 euros is renewed in 2024. It allows you to finance registration in a sports club at the start of the 2024 school year (find out more).

More than 3 million families will benefit from Pass’Sport. It is aimed at families receiving the back-to-school allowance, the AEEH or the AAH for young people aged 16 to 30. Nearly 800,000 scholarship students aged 18 to 28 will also benefit (all the conditions to benefit from the Pass’Sport).

If you are eligible for this financial assistance, you will receive either an email or an SMS containing a code to present to the sports club to obtain a reduction on your child’s registration fees (how to receive the Pass’Sport). Two sending sessions are planned: from May 30 to June 1, 2024 and from August 29 to 31, 2024.

Pass’Sport: what is the back-to-school sports allowance?

The Pass’Sport comes in the form of a back-to-school allowance having a dual vocation: to encourage young people to practice physical activity and to revive the sports sector.

This back-to-school sports allowance has a dual objective :

    • An economic objective: relaunch the associative sports sector
    • A social objective: encouraging young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to maintain a sporting activity

Here is an explanatory video on the Pass’Sport 2022, the operation of which is similar to that paid in 2024:

Be careful not to confuse the Sports Pass with the Culture Pass for young people. In fact, the latter allows you to obtain a credit of 300 euros to spend on cultural products.

What are the conditions to benefit from the Sports Pass?

The Pass’Sport is aimed at many families, but it is not open to everyone.

This is in fact financial assistance reserved for young people up to 28 years old. Moreover, This back-to-school sports allowance is only for:

    • To the children born between 09/16/2006 and 12/31/2018 whose parents receive the ARS 2024 (back-to-school bonus) (this represents 5.2 million children)
    • To the children born between 06/01/2004 and 12/31/2018 whose parents receive the education allowance for disabled children (i.e. 200,000 young people)
    • Youth born between 09/16/1993 and 12/31/2008 who receive the allowance for disabled adults (AAH)
    • To students until they turn 28 scholarship holders, receiving annual aid from the CROUS or a scholarship issued by the regional councils for health and social training

Good to know : you can combine the Pass’Sport with other financial aid dedicated to sport and offered by communities and CAF.

Aid of 50 euros per child with the Sport Pass

Concretely, the Pass’Sport takes the form of a back-to-school sports allowance in the amount of 50 euros per child.

If you have 3 children eligible for the scheme, you will receive 3 times 50 euros, or 150 euros of back-to-school sports allowance in total. You can use 50 euros per child when registering in a club.

When can you use the Pass’Sport?

It can be used at the start of the 2024 school yearat the time of registration of your child in a sports association (from June 1, 2024).

The deadline to use the 2024 Sport Pass is December 31, 2024. After this period, the reduction of 50 euros will no longer be accepted in sports clubs.

What does the Pass’Sport amount cover?

The 50 euros paid for the Pass’Sport cover part or all of the cost of joining a sports club depending on the prices offered. This sum may cover the “license” part paid to the federation, but also the “contribution” due to the club.

In which sports clubs can the Sport Pass be used?

Good to know : To check if the sports association that interests you is a partner of the Pass’Sport system, you can consult the dedicated interactive map on the site https://pass.sports.gouv.fr/v2/trouver-un-club. Many sports clubs are partners.

The Pass’Sport back-to-school allowance can be used :

    • Within a sports association affiliated with approved sports federations
    • In priority areas of the city, within an approved sports association and whether or not affiliated with a sports federation
    • Within the network of “sport-health houses” recognized by the Ministries of Health and Sports
    • Within commercial sports leisure structures such as fitness rooms for example

How to use the 50 euro reduction in a sports club?

This is a reduction granted when registering in a club or gym. All you need to do is present the code received by email or SMS (see how to benefit from the Sports Pass).

Depending on the registration price, the 50 euros are deducted from the amount due. The 50 euros from the Pass’Sport will be paid directly to the sports club. No family will receive this amount in their bank account.

If you have not received your Pass’Sport, remember to check that the e-mail did not arrive as junk mail or spam. If this is not the case, a Pass’Sport portal will be accessible from September 1 to claim the code if it has not been received: https://pass.sports.gouv.fr/v2/ welcome.

How to benefit from the €50 aid for the start of the sports school year?

If you are eligible for Pass’Sport, you do not need to take any action. You will receive an e-mail or SMS containing a code (in the form of a QR code and an alphanumeric code). Please note that this email is sent from the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Two sessions for sending these codes are planned:

    • From May 30 to June 1, 2024
    • From August 29 to 31, 2024

To claim your rights to this 50 euro aid, all you have to do is present this code to the eligible sports club of your choice.

Presenting the code contained in the e-mail or SMS then allows you to benefit from a reduction of 50 euros per child for obtaining a license or for membership.

What should I do if I don’t receive the Sport Pass code?

Several testimonials on the Aide-sociale.fr forum have raised this issue:

For “amirakarim” who testifies in a message of November 15, 2022, even access to the government site dedicated to the implementation of the Sport Pass system did not allow him to obtain this code:

“I have 3 children (2010, 2012, and 2014) who play football but I have not received the sports pass code; the name is [*suppression pour protection des données personnelles] and the first names are yazid yacoub and yassir.

I tried on the site directly to get it but it didn’t work.”

It should be noted that sending the code and receiving it is conditional on eligibility to the Sports Pass. In fact, the code is sent directly to the beneficiaries.

For “ness29” who testifies in a message of September 5, 2023, this code problem was also linked to the eligibility of all of his children for the Sport Pass:

“I have 3 children aged 4, 8 and 10, and I only received one sports pass code… Weird right? Either you are eligible or you are not, but there cannot be 1 in 3 children who benefit from it.

What recourse? Which address ?”

info icon

In this situation, attention must be paid to the age of the beneficiary children. The Sport Pass can only be awarded to children who have at least 6 years old. Thus, if a parent has two children, 5 years old and 8 years old, only the 8 year old child will be able to benefit from this system.

However, what may raise questions here is the receipt of a single code when two children (8 and 10 years old) are normally beneficiaries.

The public authorities have precisely raised this particular case on the FAQ of the site dedicated to the Sport Pass.

At the question “If I have several children but I only receive one code, what should I do?”the authorities responded:

On the one hand, they advise checking eligibility of each child by offering a verification test to be taken online.

On the other hand, they recall that scholarship student childrenthe system code is sent at the end of August 2024. In fact, the CROUS must first validate their scholarship application.

Likewise, if the Sport Pass code does not workthe authorities specify the steps to follow:

First, the authorities indicate the link allowing you to receive the code.

Secondly, they recommend checking the information given to your CAF or your CROUS. Indeed, the question of eligibility reappears: you must be eligible for the system to obtain it.
