This Saturday, around 4:20 p.m., the Brussels firefighters, medical services 112 and the Brussels West zone police intervened in a traffic accident in Ganshoren, on Avenue Charles Quint near the Basilica.
The accident involved a car and a bus. The driver and passenger of the car found themselves trapped in the passenger compartment. The bus driver was unhurt. To evacuate the passenger from the car, the right side of the car was partially dismantled.
The driver of the vehicle was able to get him out on his own. “The injured, both conscious, were transferred to hospital to determine if they suffered any possible internal injuries. The circumstances of the accident are the subject of usual findings by the police,” explains the spokesperson for Siamu Brussels, Walter Derieuw.
Major resources were put in place to intervene in this accident. The firefighters came with a command vehicle, a pumper, an extrication vehicle as well as a marking vehicle. Reinforcements were also brought in. This involves a Smur team from Erasme, two 112 ambulances from Siamu, a 112 ambulance from Dilbeek and the Vlaams-Brabant West emergency zone as well as teams from the police zone in the Brussels West zone.
