Benelli presented the new Tornado 400 at the EICMA show in Milan. This supersport is designed for 'next generation of drivers', with solutions developed exclusively for this model by Benelli R&D.
The motorcycle is powered by a 399cc parallel engine, delivering 43.5 bhp at 9,750 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. This engine features a refined cylinder head that improves fluid dynamics and thermals for greater efficiency. It has a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
A specific version of the Tornado 400 will also be available for certain markets, with a 449cc engine that delivers 47.6 hp at 9,500 rpm and 41 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, meeting Euro emission standards 5+.
The frame is made of tubular steel, with the motor integrated as a stressed member, contributing to the overall rigidity and making the motorcycle agile and precise, with a weight of just 172 kg. The suspension system includes an inverted fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock connected to the swingarm in a progressive configuration at the rear.
The braking system of the Benelli Tornado 400 consists of dual front discs with a two-piston floating caliper, while at the rear there is a single disc with a two-piston floating caliper. Both aluminum alloy wheels are 17 inches.
The motorcycle is fully equipped with LEDs, with the taillight integrated into the rear section. Riders have access to a 5-inch TFT display that can connect to a smartphone via WiFi and Bluetooth for calls and notifications. There is also a USB port for charging mobile devices.
Equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, the Tornado 400 will be available in 2025 in three color options: Pure White, Anthracite Gray and GT Green.
