A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said on Friday that Charles III was “delighted” that Princess Kate, who suffers from cancer, would be able to attend his birthday parade this Saturday.

King Charles is “delighted” that Princess Kate will be able to attend her birthday parade planned for Saturday, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson told Sky News on Friday June 14.

Princess Kate announced on social media on Friday that she would make her first official appearance in months on Saturday, delighting in the “good progress” with her cancer treatment.

“My treatment is ongoing and will continue for several months,” says the wife of Crown Prince William, who had not been seen in public since Christmas, saying she was pleased “to attend the parade for the birthday of king this weekend” in London.

Charles III also treated for cancer

The sovereign will celebrate his 76th birthday on November 14, but tradition dictates that a public ceremony, with a military parade and appearance of the royal family on the balcony, is organized in June in London. Charles III is currently being treated for cancer (the nature of which is not known) and resumed his public activities at the end of April after the announcement of his illness in early February.

The king is “looking forward to all elements of the day,” Buckingham’s spokesman said Friday.

In March, Princess Kate announced that she was suffering from cancer, adding that she was undergoing chemotherapy. This Friday, she said that there have been “good days and bad days” since the start of her treatment, which “is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
