Three minutes into the second half, however, Liverpool had the early lead they deserved.
Ahmed was on the scoresheet as he raced towards the near post and managed to head home after some good combined play down the left flank, during which Ngumoha eventually picked out his teammate to score in the six yard penalty area.
Stoke's threat was largely limited to shots from distance, with Liverpool dominating possession as the match continued.
The visitors, however, came close to catching the Reds as Day pounced on a free pass through the defense but failed to curl the shot on target from the edge of the area.
Bradshaw again tested Cooper's reactions in front of the Stoke net with a hooked effort inside the penalty area. Liverpool's threat once again came from the left to open up the Potters.
The visitors then recalled their timely threat by hitting the woodwork from a corner as defender Pijus Otegbayo leapt to volley a header off the base of the post.
Liverpool, however, responded by adding a second goal a few minutes later to give themselves a significant advantage.
Bradshaw smashed the ball in from behind and scored low for Sonni-Lambie, who made no mistake as he slotted the goal into the corner of the net.
Ahmed and Bradshaw both struggled to secure third place in the closing stages, but Liverpool managed to increase the score by staying on course to claim victory.
