A night of bad weather is brewing in Corsica. This Saturday, November 9, Haute-Corse has been placed on orange vigilance rain-flood by Météo- until November 10 at 6 a.m. “Stormy showers are occurring on the eastern coast of Corsica, writes Météo France. They are gradually strengthening and becoming more widespreadt”.

On Friday, the meteorological institute already mentioned a possible transition to orange vigilance for part of Corsica due to the presence of “significant accumulations”. “From midday Saturday to late night Saturday to Sundayon the eastern facade of Corsica (mainly Upper Corsica), Temporarily heavy and stormy rain is expected.”indicates Météo-France in its 10 a.m. bulletin.

Rains “temporarily strong and stormy” are expected on the eastern coast of Corsica, mainly in Haute-Corse, indicates Météo-France which specifies that “the intensities could be around 30 to 50 mm per hour in places, and the accumulations will approach 80 to 120 mm in three to six hours “. Over the entire episode, the accumulations “risk occasionally reaching 150 mm, or even a little more”.

Five other departments in the south of France – Bouches-du-Rhône, Corse-du-Sud, Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and – are in yellow alert for thunderstorms.
