Caution and patience if you travel on the roads of Perpignan, this Friday June 14. Several points of slowdowns have been identified, following accidents. The traffic jam are underway arriving from Canet-en-Roussillon, following a fatal accident, but also to the south of the city, near Tecnosud.

Traffic jams south of Perpignan

The biggest traffic jams concern the departmental road 914, the southern ring road which bypasses Perpignan. Following an accident near the new Decathlon, traffic is severely disrupted in both ways. The road was temporarily closed to traffic, direction Tecnosud. It has since been reopened.

But at 9 a.m., major traffic jams were still reported. From the Perpignan prison roundabout to the Méga Castillet cinema roundaboutit is this entire portion that should be avoided this Friday:

A fatal accident arriving from Canet

And then, like News Perpignan revealed to you, a second accident took place this morning, on the RD 617, arriving from Canet-en-Roussillon, about one kilometer from the Bompas exit. On the two waysa fatal collision occurred shortly after 5 a.m., between two cars.

The driver of one of them, a 77-year-old man died on the scene after having rolled over several times. The other driver, unharmed, was arrested for questioning at the Perpignan police station.

Three hours after the accident, the right lane was still paralyzed. Major traffic jams are underway for more than a kilometer, at this level. It is recommended to take the RD 617a, via Château Roussillon.
