As the constitutional referendum of November 16, 2024 approaches, the Muslim community of Port-Gentil, in Ogooué Maritime, expressed its support for the draft new Constitution. Responding to the call of Jean Fidèle Otandault, provincial representative of the head of the Muslim community of Gabon, the faithful participated in an information session on the key points of this reform, with a comparison between constitutional law and sacred principles of the Quran.

The official position of the Superior Council of Islamic Affairs of Gabon, made public by its head, Abdu Razzak Guy Kambogo, on Monday, November 4 in Libreville, was communicated to the faithful during this meeting. The Council invited all Muslims in the country to support the referendum with a favorable vote. This orientation was widely explained and commented on by Jean Fidèle Otandault, in the presence of a strong delegation from the provincial coordination of “ Oui », led by Minister Régis Onanga Ndiaye, provincial coordinator of the referendum campaign.
