Bazus 2024, a sporting and entertaining day organized by the Bazus town hall and under the direction of the games’ chief organizer, Gérard Druille, achieved a well-deserved success.
From the morning, a dozen or so cyclists, boys and girls, set off at full speed under the guidance of Franc Fava, local cycling champion. A 24 km course along winding roads in a hilly landscape for two hours of effort.
Then came the departure of 2 hikes in the surrounding countryside; one of a length of about 4 km marked in red and the other of 3 km marked in orange. The paths went up and down, once near the lake, another time in a dense wood. Some lost the color markers and found themselves in another group, and all this in laughter and good humor. Nicole on her return did not hide her joy: “Chance led me to other participants, we got to know each other well while chatting happily, what happiness!”
Meanwhile, several small groups set off to explore the village through a photo rally. Each group had a compilation of photos of specific objects to locate on a map. A game that allowed new residents to get to know the places and the people.
On returning from these morning activities, the inauguration of the fitness area, already used by local sportspeople, followed by an aperitif offered by the town hall.
The BSB and COLB associations offered drinks and pancakes.
In the afternoon, a multitude of games and activities were offered by village and Ufolep leaders (Estelle, Benoit and François): laser rifle shooting, archery, stilts, slackline, introduction to pétanque, basketball, blindfolded torball, bike safety course, tug of war, sack race and many other games.
In the general enthusiasm, lots of gifts and rewards…
To end this joyful day, an intergenerational “Spanish hostel” evening was offered with grills offered by the town hall.
