The fire that hit their house caused serious damage. The firefighters were still on site this Friday eveningto monitor a possible resumption of the fire, as well as the weakened gable of the house. A family from Saint-Maur, just next to Châteauroux, must be rehoused. The mother and her son, an adult, were there at the time of the fire. The son, who suffered smoke inhalation, was taken to hospital. The Châteauroux public prosecutor indicates that the origin of the fire seems intentional. According to the first elements gathered, it would have been lit “by one of the occupants of the premises, against the backdrop of a family dispute” specifies the public prosecutor, David Marcat.

A call for donations

On its Facebook page, the Saint-Maur town hall is calling for donations to collect clothes and shoes for the family who lost a large part of their belongings in the fire. We are looking for: youth clothing 12-18 years old, adult women’s clothing in sizes 38-40 and 44-50, adult men’s clothing XL – XXL, shoes 36/37/38/39 men/women/children, shoes man 44/45.

Donations will be collected next week at the Adèle garden room, Tuesday November 12 and Wednesday November 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
