Five arrests for senseless murder of 20-year-old

Five suspects were arrested for the senseless murder of a 20-year-old young man committed last January, near the Saint-Lambert station, in Longueuil, over a trivial dispute concerning vaping products.

After five months of relentless investigative work, Longueuil police investigators finally managed to gather enough evidence to arrest all the suspects on Wednesday.

Two of them are suspected of having directly participated in the murder. They are Muwaz Ullah, 19, and another 18-year-old who was a minor at the time of the incident and who cannot therefore be identified.

The three other suspects arrested are two men aged 17 and 20, as well as a 17-year-old woman.

Ullah and his main accomplice were to appear Thursday at the Longueuil courthouse on charges of unpremeditated murder, robbery, pointing a firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The other three suspects are expected to be charged with accessory after the fact.

According to our information, it was during a trivial argument over the sale of vaping products that Gabriel Lauzier was shot dead in cold blood on the evening of January 18, in the outdoor parking lot of the Saint-Lambert station, no away from the Victoria Bridge.
