After several promotions, DAZN is once again slashing its prices. Via Amazon Prime, the essential subscription for streaming Ligue 1 matches is only €14.99 per month, but only for a handful of users. How do you know if you are one of them?
Clearly, DAZN has difficulty setting its prices. Initially offered at a price of €39.99 per month without commitment and €29.99 with commitment, the channel which allows you to assiduously follow Ligue 1 matches (among others) is increasing its promotions. Often considered too expensive, the English streaming service has recently launched a series of commercial operations to make itself more attractive. For the next Ligue 1 derby between OL and ASSE, the broadcaster is offering a new, even cheaper offer in partnership with Amazon Prime. The only problem is that not everyone can benefit from it.
DAZN subscription passes at €14.99/month for certain Prime subscribers
For Amazon Prime subscribers, the DAZN subscription is temporarily offered at a particularly attractive price of €14.99/month, a reduction of 50% compared to the price without initial commitment. The offer is valid for 8 months, and at the end of this period, it is possible to cancel your subscription to avoid the price increase to €39.99.
Unfortunately, however, this offer is not available to everyone. At the time of writing, I myself tried to log in to view the offer, and found myself faced with the offer at €19.99/month with a 1-year commitment.
How to benefit from it?
Rather, it appears that the offer is limited to certain Prime subscribers, without clearly defined criteria, via notifications or direct emails from Prime Video. So, remember to check your Amazon account or your email inbox (but still be careful of phishing attempts).
The selection of beneficiaries remains unclear, even among Prime subscribers. You can still check your eligibility between November 6 and 10 directly from this link, since the offer seems directly linked to the bonus account.
Despite the somewhat exclusive nature of the offer, the price reduction strategy still demonstrates DAZN’s urgency to recruit new subscribers. Since its arrival in France, the streaming service has struggled to achieve the subscription objectives it had set for itself. Currently, DAZN has around 500,000 subscribers, a far cry from the 1.5 million subscribers expected to make its colossal investments in broadcasting rights profitable. Will this offer succeed in attracting new subscribers? Difficult to say, especially since the price is objectively more expensive than on paper, because you must necessarily have a Prime subscription, or €6.99.
