Like every year, the Town of Grande-Motte organize a day Clean Harbor in order to clean and remove as much waste as possible from the town’s port. The Municipality is calling on its residents to put their hands… in the trash bag.
Make the port of La Grande-Motte and its surroundings cleaner. This is the objective of this Port Propre awareness day which is taking place this Saturday, June 15. This year, once again, environmental stakeholders will be present in a “village” on the Quai Pompidou, dedicated to them, in order to increase awareness among visitors of environmental issues and Mediterranean wildlife. Among these actors, will be present on site: the City of La Grande Motte, the Quai d’Honneur traders’ association, Agglomération du Pays de l’Or (SUEZ), ARTELIA Environnement, Gendarmerie Maritime de Sète, SNSM, Greenpeace, CPIE Bassin de Thau, LABELBLEU Association, Sea Shepherd, Les Loups de Mer, Pyramides Thon Club, Zeapack, OCEAN PROTECTION, La Palanquée, APPGM, LoLum, LONGITUDE 181, SCPGM34, CESTMed, FOR MY PLANET, En Direct Sous La Mer, Laboratory of Oceanography of Villefranche, Natura 2000 (French Office for Biodiversity), WeOcean Ecogestes Occitanie
A clean port for a better quality of life
Throughout the day, numerous cleaning sessions will take place, particularly on the port breakwaters and at the Ponant pond. In addition, thanks to the help of the La Palanquée diving club, larger objects can be collected during this intervention, whether skateboards, bicycles, scooters, batteries or even trolleys. So, to participate, Registrations take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Quai Pompidou or from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Port Grégau (Ponant).
